The Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust was founded in 1986. Initially, its mission was to offer quality medical care, promote education, and support research. Then, in 1988, it launched Saveetha Dental College along with a general hospital.

Over the years, the trust gradually expanded its efforts. It went on to establish colleges for Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Engineering. As a result, education reached rural areas around Chennai and nearby districts.

To meet UGC norms for “Deemed to be University” status, the trust formed the Saveetha Institute of Medical & Technical Sciences (SIMATS) in 2001. Since then, SIMATS has continued to rise in academic rankings. Today, it is recognized both nationally and globally for its excellence in education, research, and sustainability.

Currently, SIMATS supports more than 10,000 students, 1,500 faculty members, and 2,500 support staff.

Furthermore, as part of real-world learning, the Industrial Visit at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, organized by Kaashiv Infotech, offers students hands-on tech exposure. During this visit, they explore advanced domains like Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Cybersecurity, and Full Stack Development.

Moreover, students engage in live projects, attend expert-led sessions, and directly interact with industry professionals. Thus, the industrial visit effectively bridges the gap between classroom theory and industry practice.
