DLR Arts and Science College Industrial Visit
ABOUT – DLR Arts and Science College
The DLR group of institutions grew from the vision of philanthropist Mr. D.L. Ravi, who founded the Sri Matha Bhuvaneshwari Educational Trust in 2009. It began as a women’s institute—Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women’s Teacher Training Institute of Elementary Education (D.T.Ed) and Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women’s College of Education—and expanded to include co-educational higher learning with the establishment of DLR Arts and Science College in 2017.
Affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore, and approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the college was created to make higher education accessible to both boys and girls. It is located in Thathiravadi Village, Arcot, in Ranipet District, between the culturally significant towns of Arcot and Arni. The lush green campus caters to students from over 450 village panchayats, offering a welcoming environment with easy access via the State Highway.
Since its inception, DLR Arts and Science College has built a reputation for inclusive education, rural upliftment, and academic discipline. Known for its strong community involvement and vibrant campus life, the institution stands as a rising hub for higher learning in Tamil Nadu’s Ranipet district.

THE INDUSTRIAL VISIT
The DLR Arts and Science College Industrial Visit, held on 15 September 2023, was organized to give students hands-on exposure to industry environments and bridge the gap between theory and practice. This educational initiative aimed to enhance student learning through observation, engagement, and interaction with working professionals.
During the DLR Arts and Science College Industrial Visit, students explored live industrial setups, observed operations in real time, and gained a deeper understanding of how businesses function across various departments. By interacting with industry experts, students were able to ask questions, observe tools and technologies in use, and understand the workflow expectations of modern organizations.
The experience helped students apply academic knowledge in practical settings and made learning more relevant and goal-oriented. It also nurtured essential soft skills like communication, teamwork, and professional conduct—qualities that are crucial in shaping future careers.
The DLR Arts and Science College Industrial Visit not only strengthened students’ technical insights but also gave them clarity about potential career paths. The visit fostered curiosity, critical thinking, and self-confidence, thanks to the informative and welcoming approach of the hosting team, which made the learning experience both impactful and memorable.
